What is a composable MES and how does it differ from a classic MES?

A classic MES is a monolithic system that imposes its logic on your shop floor – costly, slow to deploy, hard to evolve. A composable MES like Visionsoft is a set of independent modules you activate as you need. You start with production tracking, add quality next, then scheduling – each module is operational in a few weeks, without replacing your existing ERP.

Can Visionsoft MES connect to any ERP?

Visionsoft MES connects natively to SAP/S4HANA, Sage X3, Divalto and Cegid via REST API. For other ERPs, file-import connectors are available. The connection is bidirectional: work orders come from the ERP, and declarations and stock movements flow back automatically.

Can field operators really get to grips with the application without training?

It’s a central design point. The Visionsoft shop-floor interface is built for real industrial environments – large touch, pictograms, entry in 3 taps maximum. Getting started takes a few minutes with no formal training. Offline mode ensures continuity even in areas with no stable Wi-Fi.

How does the scheduling AI work concretely?

The scheduling AI analyzes planned work orders, available capacity per line and operator, customer deadlines and priorities to suggest an optimal sequence. It detects resource conflicts before launch and proposes reassignments. The manager validates or adjusts by drag and drop – the AI suggests, the human decides.
